| Four Horsemen, 2002, Plaster, metal, wood, formica and laquer paint, 11"x12"x3" SOLD (other versions available) These pieces were created for a show at the Childrens' Room of the Brooklyn Public Library during the summer and fall of 2002. Because the exhibition's date coincided with the first anniversary of the September 11th events, I wanted to create a body of work that talked about pain, loss and transition. However, being a children's show I used the bright colors to make the sculptures "happy" and fun. The most popular question by the little exhibition attendees was "Did you know your horse statue over there is missing a leg?" Click on Thumbnails to view details or HERE to return |
